So What's This About

Have you ever found yourself on an unexpected path in life? I did. I was tired of beating my head against the proverbial wall trying to make things workout the way I thought they should. Tired of disappointments and setbacks. Someone once said when life hands you lemons, make lemonade. Well, this is my attempt at making that lemonade. I'm trying new things. Making new mistakes. Learning to dance in the rain. And I'm recording those moments here because I'd like to look back at how far I've come ... and hopefully get a glimpse at where I'm going.
So what’s in a name? Apparently everything! I wanted a new blog to record my life’s adventures and trials, so here I am. Problem is, I needed a name. Something catchy. Not crazy. So I went to one of those name generator websites (yep, you know what I mean) and keyed in a bunch of stuff that I like. I got all kinds of crazy, no sense stuff. However, one of the names stood out … Naturalla. I kinda liked it, but it needed something else. So Bella Naturalla was born!! No one else had it and it suits me. Although the name will stay the same, I’m sure life and my posts will help shape its true meaning.
Natural Hair: I have been natural since September 2011. I do not claim to be on a hair journey or trying to redefine myself. I simply made the choice and now have a love/hate relationship with my hair. Ha! I do not cut, trim or dust my hair for any reason, so I had a long transition period. My split-ends and I have a close understanding and those dreaded fairy knots and I are coming to terms. I’m sure I’ll have lots of posts about my hair ordeals.
Patio Gardening: I love the outdoors and enjoy working with plants. There’s just something peaceful and beautiful about a healthy, growing plant. I currently have a small, apartment patio, so I’m attempting to grow a small garden with pots. My goal is to grow enough food to last six months. There are a lot of obstacles for me right now, but I hope to overcome them to achieve a plenteous harvest.
Organic Products: I try to use products that are organic, virgin or non-chemical based in my food, garden and home.  Except when I clean my kitchen and bathroom. For some reason I can’t get away from using bleach, especially the lemony or floral scented ones …
Craftiness: I also have a love/hate relationship with sewing and all other crafty projects. Easy to start, hard to finish. I may share a few projects.
